Pleated

Good morning and happy Thursday! I tried a new recipe last night and worked for nearly 2 hours in the kitchen to “pretty good” aka mediocre results… This is why I’ve had a long and tumultuous relationship with cooking. I have a handful of safe go-to’s and rely heavily on meal kits. It is what it is!

PS: So looking forward to the weekend: dinner plans (ie not cooking ha), seeing friends and hopefully we’ll all get to sleep in a little bit more than last weekend!

On the go

When I want/need to be comfortable but still look put together: this is what I wear. Nothing beats an elastic waistband, comfortable and stretchy white tank and a cozy layer on top. Just add sneakers and the tote of the day.

More polished loungewear sets I love:

The No-BS Pant

Five years in the making! I’m excited to be sharing American Giant‘s No-BS Pant, an update to their Ponte pant. It looks like a pant but feels like leggings (it’s true!). The fabric is custom-developed: a double knit ponte with 4-way stretch (never sheer and never shiny!). It doesn’t pill or fade in the wash either. Also in love with their merino wool v-neck sweater – the side panel rib detail looks casual but luxe. Going from Zoom meetings to errands to school pick-up – and feeling comfortable while doing it!

Thanks for stopping by!

PS: Get 20% off your purchase with code 9TO5CHIC! My dad loves their hoodies and sweaters and gifted my husband one a few years back!

And just like that, it’s already almost halfway through the week. A quick one for today! Hope you’re having a great one!

Coffee Break: Knotted Headband

I think I was updating an older story about hair accessories when I found Lele Sadoughi at Nordstrom — if you’re on the hunt for upmarket hair accessories (the pictured headband is $65, for example) then you should definitely check the brand out. There’s a collaboration with Lily Pulitzer, and I’d put the brand up there with hair accessory great brands Ficcare and France Luxe. (This knotted sweater headband is also stunning.)

For my $.02, I wouldn’t wear headbands like this for a Big Day like an interview or court appearance — but I think they can look nice on Zoom calls as well as elevating a casual outfit at work in a preppy, pretty kind of way.

Some of the other nice hair accessories for work on the market right now…
