Saban Films has unveiled the trailer and poster for Ida Red, and Collider has your exclusive look at the upcoming action crime thriller film starring Josh Hartnett (Wrath of Man, Penny Dreadful), Academy Award-winning actress Melissa Leo (The Fighter, Frozen River), and Frank Grillo (Boss Level, The Purge franchise). The movie will be released in theaters, On-Demand, and Digital on November 5.

Leo plays the titular Ida “Red” Walker in the film, a crime boss who appears to be orchestrating things just fine from her place behind bars, while Hartnett plays her son Wyatt, who has followed in his mother’s footsteps primarily because, as he says as one point, “it’s in our blood.” As Red faces down a hefty prison sentence, she reaches out to Wyatt to help her pull off one last heist.

The only problem is that Wyatt’s not so sure he wants to live a life of crime anymore, and becomes trapped between an obligation to family and striving to emancipate himself from his mother’s clutches. Hartnett and Leo are definitely the acting face-off of powerhouses that anchors this intense trailer, but it’s always a pleasure to see Grillo pop up when you least expect him to.

Ida Red is written and directed by John Swab (Body Brokers, Let Me Make You a Martyr). In addition to Hartnett, Leo, and Grillo, the film stars Sofia Hublitz (Ozark), William Forsythe (The Devil’s Rejects, Raising Arizona), and Deborah Ann Woll (Daredevil, True Blood).

Here’s the official synopsis for Ida Red:

Crime boss Ida “Red” Walker (Oscar winner® Melissa Leo) turns to her son, Wyatt (Josh Hartnett), to pull off one last heist to get out of prison. But with the FBI closing in, Wyatt must choose between family and freedom in this high-octane thriller.

The final season of On My Block is coming next month, so Netflix decided to drop a trailer to reveal what we can expect from one more season in the dangerous neighborhood of Freeridge. In the story, a group of teens sees their friendship tested as they navigate high school in a dangerous and unforgiving world. The fourth and final season of On My Block will premiere October 4 on Netflix.

The new season will pick up two years after Season 3, and the trailer reveals a glimpse into the issues Monse Finnie (Sierra Capri), Cesar Diaz (Diego Tinoco), Ruby Martinez (Jason Genao), Jamal Turner (Brett Gray), Jasmine (Jessica Marie Garcia) and Oscar (Julio Macias) will have to face as a secret is unveiled in the final 10 episodes.

In the trailer, tensions get high as Monse tells Cesar she no longer needs protection and, instead, he should protect himself by going away from Freeridge. He, on the other side, says he’s destined to be a gang member, and it’s too late for him to leave. The consequences of this decision, we’ll only know when Season 4 premieres.

What we do know is that we can expect more partying, heavy drinking, fighting and a gnome cutting onions – or at least that’s what Chivo (Emilio Rivera) says it’s the reason he’s crying.

On My Block hails from Lauren Iungerich, who serves as co-creator, executive producer, and showrunner, as well as co-creators and executive producers Eddie Gonzalez & Jeremy Haft. The final season of On My Block is set to premiere on Netflix on October 4. You can watch the trailer below:

On My Block is a coming of age comedy about a group of bright and street-savvy friends navigating their way through high-school in the rough inner city. Season 4 finds our friends two years later, having gone their separate ways. When a secret is unburied, they quickly learn you can’t run from the past and they will need to stick together to survive.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage’s new character posters might have spoiled the return of She-Venom, a character introduced in 2018’s Venom when the symbiote bonded with Anne Weying (Michelle Williams).

The new set of posters present each of the four main characters’ faces, while a small silhouette of their super-counterparts can be seen at the bottom. While Eddie Brock’s Venom (Tom Hardy), Cletus Kasady’s Carnage (Woody Harrelson), and Frances Louise Barrison’s Spider-Man sonic villain Shriek (Naomie Harris) were already announced, while Anne’s She-Venom silhouette indicates either Venom is once again bonding with her or that Anne will get a symbiote of her own.

She-Venom showed up during Venom in a scene where Eddie Brock got separated from his symbiote. To return to his original host, Venom bonds with Anne and gets transferred by a French kiss where, technically, Venom and Eddie were making out too. If She-Venom is returning, we can get more confusing scenes we are uncomfortable to admit are a little bit sexy, which would definitely improve the sequel.

The highly-anticipated sequel of 2018’s Venom will explore how Eddie Brock and Venom keep their symbiotic relationship while trying to hold their life together. The movie will also bring back an upgraded Cletus Kasady as the main villain after the killer fuses with his own superpowered symbiote, Carnage. Although Carnage is known as one of the most visceral Marvel villains, Venom: Let There Be Carnage will stick with the first film PG-13 to sell as many movie tickets as it can.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage is directed by Andy Serkis. Hardy got a “story by” credit on the upcoming sequel after working closely with screenwriter Kelly Marcel. After Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Hardy is reportedly coming back to Morbius, where he’ll join Michael Keaton. Keaton played the Vulture on Spider-Man: Homecoming, and while nothing is officially confirmed, his appearance in Morbius might indicate future partnerships between Sony and Disney’s MCU. Now that the trailer of Spider-Man: No Way Home confirmed Alfred Molina returns as Doc Ock and Willem Dafoe as Green Goblin, there’s no longer a separation between Sony’s Spider-Man Universe and the MCU, so anything is possible.

Tokyo Vice, the HBO Max crime series directed by Michael Mann (Collateral), has added more actors to its cast. Ansel Elgort (Baby Driver) was already confirmed as the series main protagonist, along with other previously announced members of the cast like Ken Watanabe (Inception), Rachel Keller (Legion), Ella Rumpf (Raw), and Rinko Kikuchi (Babel). Now, new additions to the cast include the Japanese actors Hideaki Ito (Brave Hearts: Umizaru), Shô Kasamatsu (Demekin), and Tomohisa Yamashita (The Head).

Written by Tony Award-winning playwright J.T. Rogers, Tokyo Vice stars Elgort in the shoes of American journalist Jake Adelstein, whose 2009 memoir Tokyo Vice: An American Reporter on the Police Beat in Japan inspired the creation of the series. The show chronicles Adelstein’s experiences with the Tokyo Metropolitan Police as he descends into the underbelly of Tokyo life, unveiling corruptions and illegality among the city’s criminal yakuza organizations.

Kikuchi will play a Japanese journalist, while Watanabe and Ito will appear as Tokyo police detectives, Kasamatsu will play a Chihara-Kai yakuza family member, and Yamashita will portray Akira, a professional host who hides more than what meets the eye. Additional cast members include Sugata Shun as the leader of Chihara-kai, Hagiwara Masato as the manager of the upscale hostess club, and Tanida Ayumi as the leader of the Tozawa-gumi crime group.

Mann directs the pilot episode of the 10-episode long series and is also executive producing. Also directing is Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings). Endeavor Content is handling the series worldwide distribution while Japan’s WOWOW is taking local rights and co-producing. Tokyo Vice will be available for streaming exclusively on HBO Max in early 2022. WOWOW will be in charge of airing the series in Japan next spring.

During the latest Letter from the Producer livestream, the Final Fantasy XIV development team discussed the changes that would be coming to all of the jobs for the Endwalker expansion coming this year. They also released a trailer that showed off these changes, which also includes the two newest jobs being added, Reaper and Sage.

The Reaper will be a melee DPS in the new expansion, and their weapon is a scythe. They have the ability to summon an avatar from the Void to aid them in battle, and even become the host for the avatar itself. They have a unique gauge called the Soul Gauge, which once they have it charged up, allows them to unleash powerful demon attacks. The avatar has its own gauge as well. We can also see in the demonstration that Reapers will be able to open up a portal so that they can close distances, and this portal will stay open temporarily. Producer Naoki Yoshida stated that the gameplay for this job was inspired by anime action scenes, and while he described the class as difficult to learn, he said that it is the “good kind” of difficult.

Sages are going to be a Healer class, and will be the first one added to Final Fantasy XIV since the Heavensward expansion. They utilize a weapon called nouliths, and are able to attack enemies and heal allies simultaneously. They have a unique resource bar that you can see in the trailer to enhance their abilities, and have access to abilities like Adder’s Gall, which creates instant barriers, and Icarus, which is a dash ability used to close gaps. The job will focus on shields to keep their party alive, rather than direct healing.

The trailer also gives us a peek at every other job in the game. During the 18 minute video, we can get an idea on how each one will play with their new and updated abilities. Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker will be launching on November 23, 2021, and will be the fourth expansion in the popular MMO, and will be the conclusion of the tales of Hydaelyn and Zodiark. The story appears to be taking inspiration from Final Fantasy IV this time around, with the moon becoming an accessable location, and the Dragoon Estinien being teased as having a more prominent role in the story.
