House of Gucci Images: Lady Gaga Proves That Looks Can Kill

As if we had any doubt that Lady Gaga would be killing the fashion game as couture royalty in House of Gucci, now we have the pictures to prove it. New stills from the upcoming biopic feature Gaga in all of her fashionable glory as Patrizia Reggiani, the ex-wife of fashion magnate Maurizio Gucci who was tried and convicted for orchestrating his assassination. Who said crime can’t look good?

The new stills show off Gaga in a role sure to put in her contention for an Oscar, serving various looks, including a club outfit reminiscent of Cher in her Studio 54 glory days, as well as a cozy-looking ski suit — seen in the film’s trailer — and her extravagant wedding gown with a lace veil. The stills even reveal what looks to be Gaga as Reggiani after the death of her husband, emerging from a sleek black car in a fur coat, surrounded by shouting paparazzi.

Each look is as extravagant as one would expect from a biopic about the Gucci family, a fashion house that has dominated the industry for a hundred years. (The release of House of Gucci in November is no coincidence, lining up with the brand’s official hundredth anniversary.) And with her star power still radiating from 2018’s A Star Is Born, Gaga has more than enough charisma to playing the scheming wife Reggiani, who declares in the trailer that she is not “a particularly ethical person, but [she is] fair”.

And of course, Gaga is joined by a host of other award-winning actors to round out the Gucci family, including Adam Driver as Maurizio Gucci, along with Jared Leto, Jeremy Irons, Al Pacino, and Salma Hayek. With a script by Becky Johnston and Roberto Bentivegna directed by Academy Award-nominee Ridley Scott, surely House of Gucci will prove that looks can indeed kill.

House of Gucci premieres in theaters everywhere on November 24. Check out the new images from House of Gucci below.

Ben Platt on Dear Evan Hansen and How He Is Able to Sing Through Tears

With director Stephen Chbosky’s (The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Wonder) Dear Evan Hansen arriving in theaters on September 24th, I recently got to speak with Ben Platt about bringing the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical to movie screens. If you’re not familiar with Dear Evan Hansen, the high school-set film is written for the screen by the show’s Tony-winning writer Steven Levenson, with music and lyrics by the show’s Oscar, Grammy, and Tony-winning songwriting team of Benj Pasek & Justin Paul. The story is about a high school outsider (Platt) who gains friendship and fame by falsely claiming that he had a tight bond with one of his deceased classmates. The film and play is a powerful look at isolation, social anxiety, and grief and shines a light on the importance of talking about mental health. Dear Evan Hansen also stars Kaitlyn Deaver, Amy Adams, Julianne Moore, Amandla Stenberg, Danny Pino, Colton Ryan, and Nik Dodani.

During the interview, he talked about what it was like on the last day of filming knowing it would probably be his final performance, how he is able to sing and cry at the same time, the new ending, and what they were able to add to the movie version that they didn’t have on stage.

LAIKA Studios, home to everyone’s favorite stop-motion-animated heroes and villains, is nearly old enough to get its driver’s license, and to celebrate, they’re bringing their heroes to the public. To celebrate the studio’s fifteenth anniversary, LAIKA is teaming up with the Oregon Museum of Science & Industry to host a series of film screenings in the lead-up to Halloween, as well as hosting filmmaker discussions and a display of real, production-used puppets and sets.

Beginning on October 15, LAIKA — who just announced their latest film, Wildwood, based on Colin Meloy’s novel — will display several “hero” puppets (the actual puppets used to create their films) at OMSI, as well as a number of sets from various productions, including the Other Kitchen with Other Mother and Other Father from Coraline, Kubo’s market building from Kubo and the Two Strings, Snatcher’s truck and Sparky’s market tent from The Boxtrolls, and Sir Lionel’s apartment from Missing Link.

Family Guy Unveils Educations COVID-19 Vaccine Awareness Short

An educational Family Guy short that stresses the importance of the COVID-19 vaccine has just been released online. The short continues Disney and Fox's partnership with the Ad Council’s “It’s Up To You” Campaign.

The short begins with Stewie and Brian Griffin accompanying Peter at the doctor's office as he debates on whether to get his COVID-19 vaccination or not. The doctor attempts to educate Peter and the viewers on why the vaccine is so necessary, but he does a terrible job, so Stewie steps up to the plate. Stewie shrinks himself and Brian, transporting the duo into Peter's body. Stewie gets in-depth about the science behind the vaccine, equipped with some humorous visuals and sight gags. In the end, because of a feeling he has inside, Peter gets his vaccine and realizes how painless and easy it is.

Phasmophobia Update Includes New Single-Player Mode

In celebration of the one-year anniversary of Phasmophobia, developer Kinetic Games has announced that they're releasing a new patch for the game, which includes a long-awaited single-player mode.

The new mode also allows gamers to play completely offline. However, the gameplay remains the same: you still grab your equipment from the van, explore the area you've chosen, and find suspicious activities and clues to determine what kind of supernatural entity is haunting the place, all while trying to not get killed. The game still encourages playing cooperatively with friends, but if you're looking for scares in a solo setting, that option is now available.

There were also a few other things added to the patch, notably an overhaul to Phasmophobia's journal which has now been completely redesigned, making it easier to use and navigate. Kinetic Games also added some new features, allowing players to now cross off evidence on the ghost evidence page, having the pause menu integrated into the journal, and granting access to all settings using the journal while in a game.

A few other minor changes include how much money players now get if they fail a contract, being able to see ghost types if a contract is failed, and the changing of ghost orb positions in the ghost room. Lastly, the anniversary patch included bug fixes, including an exploit where players were able to glitch their heads inside something so the ghost would no longer be able to see them.

Phasmophobia is an investigative horror game. In it, up to four players work together to complete a given contract, where they must identify what type of ghost is haunting a specific site while trying to not get killed by the same entity. The game was released on September 18 and is available for free on Steam. You can check out the patch announcement tweet, which includes a link to the full patch notes, below:
