Introducing: She Is Jules – stop & go

Singer/songwriter She Is Jules has been taking over the pop scene recently. Her latest release, stop & go, features dark pop influences and strong arrangements that are unexpected. Crystal-clear vocals provide the perfect counterpoint to the more moody soundscape. An engaging chorus is present here, one built on a unique foundation.  This song is bruty, fun, and crazy all at once.

stop & go talks about being blindsided by love and being driven to madness. Lyrically, I think it put enough emphasis on its themes. Check out the audio below!

Interview with The Winter Society

I’m Ian Carroll, the lead singer and owner of the band The Winter Society. I’m just coming to eighteen years old, and I release most of my material on YouTube.

Where are you based?
Slinger, in the state of Wisconsin.

How long have you been making music?
I’ve been making music for a little over four years. Lyrically, at least. I actually started recording my material just under ten months ago.

What genre would you consider your music to be?
I consider most of my music to be somewhere in the metal category. Hard metal, alternative, progressive. I’ve even made a death metal track or two.

What inspired you to pursue a career in music?
I have always been listening to music, no matter what I’m doing. When I’m eating, when I’m working, I even fall asleep. It’s changed me as a person, and I want to change other people with my music the way it’s changed me.

What are your biggest musical influences?
My main one has always been the band Disturbed. Admittedly, David Draiman’s voice is mostly what inspired my lower range. A few other big ones are Famous Last Words, Halocene, Van Halen, Metallica,

Are you signed to a label or are you an independent artist?
I’m an independent artist! I plan to keep it this way, but if anyone is willing to extend their offer to me, I’d check them out.

What have been the biggest challenges in your music career?
Admittedly, the biggest challenge has been actually finding my voice. As a teen, my voice was always tenor in range. But as of recent years, I’ve become a high baritone (a baritenor as I call it). I’ve been experimenting with my voice more and more in recent months to figure out just how far it can go.

How many songs or albums have you released to date?
I’ve released three singles officially on stores. Otherwise, there is a plethora of material on my YouTube channel free to anyone and everyone who wants to listen.

Can you tell us a few things about your latest release?
As for the official releases, the most recent release is a title called, “As the Lights are Reimagined”. It’s a cover of Will Ryan (IRIS Official and DAGames)’s song called “As the Lights Go Out”, but with a very unique twist. I’ve been making this track and mastering it for a long time, and this result is the one I want. As for the YouTube releases, the most recent is called, “Memories of the Damned”. It tells the story of souls in a fictional world that have gone legitimately through hell and back to try and remedy their past mistakes. Not everything turns out their way, though.

Any plans for new music or upcoming projects we should know about?
At the moment, I’m working on quite a few things to officially release and put out on the YouTube channel. I’ve been working meticulously in the back-end to finish each song to the best of my ability, and I think I’ve got my formula down. Expect a title called, “Slave to the Factory Line” very soon.

Introducing: Maddy Street – British Girl

Maddy Street is one of today’s most promising songwriters. She recently shared British Girl, a catchy song with an upbeat feel. Both the guitar playing and drumming sound simply outstanding. Arrangements of this quality are rare. In my opinion, the singing in this song can be described as extraordinary.

British Girl will dive you into the young singer’s intrinsically colorful, queer and pop universe. It can easily be your favorite song of 2021. I mean, it’s just so iconic. Maddie is an inspiration for all of us, due to her unparalleled ability to bring creative ideas to life. Hopefully, next year, more new music will be released.

Introducing: DeLange – Contemplation No. 2

Among my favorite genres is Neo-classical. Listening to it immerses me in a completely new sphere. Great compositions can communicate more than you can imagine. Dutch composer and pianist Delange excels when it comes to creating striking melodies. His most recent work, Contemplation No. 2, is relatively short, yet incredibly fascinating. Its sound is bursting with intricate details.

Regarding the track, DeLange says: ”We all need time to ponder on our lives, but rarely take the time to contemplate. I decided to secure my own pondering time and kept a diary in the form of musical phrases that reflect the emotions of that day. Recorded at night in my living room at my upright piano. Each night a small time-space oasis to reflect on past events and to escape the immediate surroundings.”

If you’re a fan of icons such as Ólafur Arnalds or Nils Frahm, then this should be your cup of tea. DeLange is always striving to achieve perfection in his music. Contemplation No. 2 underscores a similar philosophy. Check out the audio below!
