Close To Monday – “SPLIT”

The European duo Close To Monday has a smooth Alternative sound that pairs perfectly with their slightly ominous Electronic edge. The band’s new single “SPLIT” is an incredible example of this sound with a brilliant synthy beat and a silky vocal line. “SPLIT” is the band’s first release since the album they put out in spring of 2021.

“SPLIT” has a unique feel to it, truly showing off this group’s ability to create music that has meaning and energy. While many have blended the sounds of Alternative and Electronic, none have done it with the sheer beauty of Close To Monday.

Close to Monday

This duo was formed as a single artist’s collective in 2019. He began with the intention of creating a new strain of Indie Electronic music for the contemporary. The other half of this group joined in 2021, and from there they went on to release an album that made the Top 10 in the German Alternative Charts.

Close To Monday is a new and exciting group that is sure to continue releasing incredible tracks and projects, much like “SPLIT”. If you haven’t had the chance to check out this band, now is most certainly the time to do it.

Luhan Si Hadin – ‘An Apology’

A non-binary singer/songwriter with an intriguing acoustic Emo sound, Luhan Si Hadin is a breath of fresh air. They have recently released their debut track, titled  “An Apology”. This song is beautiful and solemn, filled with a variety of sounds and voices while remaining raw and honest. This is the kind of music that will send shivers down your spine.

Luhan and the others they surround themself with work to create a space for the ‘nerdy queer listener of color’. Their music is simply gorgeous with its lyricism and melodic lines. There is no doubt that their future releases will only improve, making them an artist to look out for.

Introducing: Noa Sorele – Better

Noa Sorele, a twenty-year-old independent singer-songwriter from London, recently debuted her sophomore single Better. It serves as an anthem for finding healing and self-empowerment after heartbreak. If you’ve been through the same thing, you might find comfort in these lyrics. Their impact instills inner confidence.

This song reminds us that we’re capable of pushing through hardships and recognizing our progress in order to be better. It depicts the journey of personal growth while enduring heartbreak, and being able to take pride in it, no matter what the challenges entail.

When speaking about the track, Noa says: ”I wrote Better not long after an intense breakup, when I was in at my lowest. This song, however difficult it was to sing at times, slowly helped me find inner peace and self-love. While healing is still an ongoing, powerful, and challenging journey for me, this song continues to heal me, and helps me believe in myself. I truly hope it can do the same, in some way, for you.”

Aside from the compelling story it tells, Better has a strong musical component as well. The instrumental accompaniment is pop-influenced and well-suited to the lyrics. Last but not least, I’d like to point out Noah’s heartfelt vocals. She sings with great emotional depth.

Introducing: Sofia Anastasio – Eurolines

French singer/songwriter Sofia Anastasio recently put out a song called Eurolines, which pays homage to Amsterdam. It describes a weekend she spent there with friends. In the bus on the way back to Paris, Sofia wrote the lyrics. It was autumn and raining that day. Like the mood of the track, it was melancholy and happy.

The instrumentation on Eurolines is exceptional; it’s dreamy at times, but also energetic in certain segments, such as the chorus. This track has plenty of catchy melodies and grooves. Sofia’s vocals blend nicely with the music.
