The Miami-Dade Youth Fair Is Back

Every year thousands of people gather together at the Miami-Dade County fair for the rides, games, food, concerts and exhibitions. The Miami-Dade County Fair, also known as The Fair, or the Miami Youth Fair, started in 1952 as a way to promote education and the agricultural sector of the Dade County Community. It is one of the biggest events in southern Florida.

What to Expect

Get ready to walk a lot, eat a lot and play a lot. At the Youth Fair you can find carnival favorites such as corn dogs, corn-on-the-cob, cotton candy, frozen lemonade, and big juicy turkey legs. Each year I attend, I look forward to having the curly fries loaded with cheese and bacon, yum! You will enjoy thrilling roller coaster rides, merry-go-rounds, waterslides, rope drop and Ferris wheels. Play whac-a-mole, pop the balloons or shoot the target and what makes it more interesting is that it can be a family day or night out because there is something for every age group. There are also exhibits showcasing animals and plant species and competition among students from the Miami-Dade Public Schools. You can also have fun feeding the goats or camels and have the kids take a pony ride.

The fair usually takes place each year from the end of March to early April, however, due to the pandemic things have changed a bit. This year it will be held from November 18th thru December 5th, so if you happen to be visiting South Florida around this time, scribble it in on your list of things to do. It’s located at the corner of SW 107th Ave. and Coral Way in Miami Florida adjacent to the Florida International University South Campus. It will resume it’s regular schedule starting in 2022.
